Job Purpose

Under the immediate direction of the supervisor: performs housekeeping tasks, accepts responsibility for movement of meters, drives meter delivery truck, condemn meters and removes ERT's on small capacity meters (425 C.F.H. and under) and prepares meters for finishing operation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintains cleanliness of the Meter Shop.
  • Moves meters both within the shop and to service group location.
  • Drives meter delivery truck.
  • Handles and sorts meters for processing through Meter Shop.
  • Removes old stickers, masks both index and meter id number.
  • Enters information on company forms as required.
  • Condemns meters and removes ERT's on small capacity meters (425 C.F.H> and under).
  • Performs all duties related to job content as assigned and renders assistance when and where needed.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma, preferably a trade school, or the equivalent and have a mechanical inclination.
  • Must pass the company physical and qualification tests.
  • Must possess a Massachusetts driver's license and subsequently become qualified for a CDL driver's license.

Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
