National Grid is hiring a highly motivated Senior Specialist to join our dynamic and fast paced Investment Recovery team. If you are ready to innovate, contribute ideas and play a part in modernizing the Investment Recovery Department we want to hear from you!

 

The Role

The Investment Recovery Senior Specialist ensures that surplus and end of life materials are inventoried and redistributed, sold or disposed of in an environmentally and financially sound manner. This field-based role requires 50% travel within our service area.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate the sale and disposal of scrap and surplus materials and equipment across National Grid locations with Material Yard Supervisors and external contractors
  • Monitor, manage and report scrap and surplus material master service agreements (MSAs) and contracts. Hold vendors accountable for agreed upon scope of work and contract terms and conditions
  • Develop and execute strategies to sell assets to secondary market channels while working in conjunction with Procurement
  • Manage contractual relationships with key IR vendors for asset sales, auction and scrap recovery
  • Process inventory and asset disposal material transfers using SAP and EPIQ software systems
  • Market asset resale opportunities internally and through business-to-business selling
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement to expand National Grid’s Investment Recovery Program and Recycling opportunities
  • Travel 50% to local and regional yard and field sites and occasionally nationally to various vendors’ locations and to attend conferences

About You

  • Bachelor's degree required, Environmental Science, Business Management, Supply Chain or similar degree preferred
  • 3+ years of exceptional sales experience required
  • 3+ years of resale end of life materials and supplies preferred
  • 3+ years of gas or oil utility experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of sales processes including marketing (private treaty, auction, sealed bids), sales documentation, payment processing and inventory control required
  • Proficiency with MS Office required, SAP preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of recycling outlets and environmental processes required
  • Demonstrated project and contract management skills required
  • Proven ability to make presentations to diverse audiences
  • Knowledge of storm recovery processes and experience managing storm contractors in the field for investment recovery efforts preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required

Salary

$91,000 - $107,000 a year

Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA).
