Job Purpose
We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for you to provide professional support for the SVP of US Policy, Regulatory Strategy, & Federal Affairs at National Grid.
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and forward-thinking Executive Assistant to provide dedicated support to the SVP of US Policy, Regulatory Strategy, & Federal Affairs.
In this role, you will act as a trusted partner, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of a fast-paced executive office. You will manage complex scheduling, coordinate travel and meetings, and serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Success in this role requires strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to anticipate needs in a dynamic environment. You will also interact with the EA for the President of NGV and US External Affairs ensuring a fully functioning office and department in Washington DC.
Key Accountabilities
- Executive Support & Calendar Management: Manage a complex and ever-changing calendar, prioritizing competing demands and ensuring effective time management.
- Meetings & Events Coordination: Plan and coordinate meetings, conferences, and events (onsite and offsite), including logistics, scheduling, and stakeholder alignment.
- Travel Management: Coordinate domestic and international travel, including itineraries, accommodations, logistics, documentation, and associated meeting arrangements.
- Stakeholder & Communications Management: Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, managing correspondence, inquiries, and communications with professionalism and discretion.
- Meeting Preparation & Documentation: Prepare high-quality briefing materials, agendas, and documentation; maintain organized forward planning files and ensure the executive is fully prepared for all engagements.
- Operational & Administrative Support: Manage expenses, invoices, and purchase orders; support team processes and maintain efficient administrative operations.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Partner with fellow Executive Assistants, the team’s Director of Operations, and broader teams to coordinate meetings, events, and cross-functional initiatives. Assist in the running of the operations in the DC office.
- Problem Solving & Decision Support: Proactively identify issues, analyze requirements, and provide insights and recommendations to support effective decision-making.
- Standards & Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of administrative processes, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications
You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You bring strong stakeholder management skills, sound judgment, and a proactive mindset.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in an Executive Assistant or senior administrative role supporting senior leadership
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of discretion and experience handling confidential information
- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving capability
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Solid understanding of office management systems and procedures

Salary
$81K - $95k a year in Washington, DC
