National Grid Interconnectors is at the heart of UK’s transition to our net zero energy future. We operate a number of HVDC Interconnectors that connect the UK’s energy system to some of our closest neighbours, allowing energy to be imported to and exported from the UK.


As well as already owning a portfolio of HVDC Interconnectors, we’re working on developing new projects to ensure that we are able to meet the UK’s future demands for greener energy solutions.

 

We are currently recruiting for a Training and Capability Lead within our Strategy, Performance and Development Team.


As Training & Capability Lead you will be accountable for delivery of our Strategic Business Plan and Financial Planning, owning our Learning and Development offerings including our entry level development programmes and the production of all materials used for team meetings and external engagements. Your role will be focused on developing and implementing a number of meaningful initiatives across our business. You will play the central role in developing learning plans that are directly linked to the strategic direction and needs of the business, ensuring that our business has the right skills in the right places to deliver when we need them! Alongside these exciting challenges there will still be lots of opportunity to get involved across the team and the wider department.


This role is hybrid with our office based in Warwick we’d hope to see you in the office 2 days per week and the rest of the week from home.

What you'll do

 

  • You'll be accountable and responsible for the development and delivery of the Interconnector Operations Annual Learning Plan which defines all training requirements to ensure NGV Interconnectors are safety and legally compliant to UK legislation and business management standards.
  • you'll be accountable and responsible for the NGV Interconnectors Training Matrix consisting of technical engineering, safety, and compliance courses for Interconnector Operations.
  • Lead the implementation of the Comaea competency system at sites to enable competency gap analysis and to define technical training strategies.
  • Document training processes to ensure business continuity and define ways of working with site planners.
  • Provide second line assurance to sites on training and competency.
  • Regularly report progress and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders

  • Basic technical knowledge of convertor station assets.
  • Able to interrogate performance data and drive continuous improvement.

A competitive salary between £48,374- £57,012 per annum– dependent on capability.
