National Grid is hiring a Social Value Reporting Specialist - This role is based at our offices in Warwick and can be combined with hybrid working from home.

Job Purpose

As Social Value Reporting Specialist, you’ll work closely with delivery teams and central functions to collect, analyse, assure and maintain social value data, providing insights and reporting that demonstrate progress and performance. You’ll play a key role in strengthening governance, consistency and confidence in how social value is measured and reported across Electricity Transmission.

What You'll Do

You will develop and coordinate high-quality reporting products for internal and external audiences, translating complex information into clear insight that supports decision-making, performance conversations and stakeholder confidence.

 

You’ll also work proactively with the business to improve reporting processes, identify risks and gaps in data quality, and drive continuous improvement so that social value reporting becomes embedded as “business as usual”.

 

Social value measurement & reporting

  • Lead the coordination and delivery of social value reporting across Electricity Transmission, ensuring consistency, accuracy and clarity.
  • Own and maintain social value metrics, data definitions and reporting processes aligned to regulatory, SEAP and internal governance requirements.
  • Produce high‑quality reporting outputs for internal governance, senior leaders, committees and external audiences.
  • Translate complex data into clear insight that supports decision‑making and performance conversations.

 

Frameworks, systems & continuous improvement

  • Lead the practical implementation and evolution of social value reporting frameworks and tools, including digital solutions where applicable.
  • Ensure reporting frameworks remain aligned with evolving ESG, social value and regulatory expectations.

 

Business partnering & influence

  • Act as the subject‑matter expert on social value reporting for delivery teams, project teams and central functions.
  • Provide guidance and challenge to improve data quality, consistency and ownership across the business.

About You

Essential

  • Significant experience in performance reporting, data analysis, assurance or ESG / social value reporting.
  • Strong understanding of how data supports regulatory confidence, governance and decision‑making.
  • Proven ability to work independently on complex reporting activities and influence without formal authority.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to turn data into clear narrative.

 

Desirable

  • Experience working in regulated environments or with regulatory reporting frameworks (e.g. RIIO).
  • Familiarity with social value, ESG or sustainability measurement frameworks.
  • Experience supporting audits, assurance or regulatory scrutiny.

What You'll Get

A competitive salary between £48,000 – £57,000  dependent on capability

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive

  • 26 days holiday, plus eight statutory days, an option to buy extra holiday days, and the option to holiday swap up to 3 bank holiday days 
  • An annual performance incentive
  • A generous pension scheme, double matched up to 6% of your salary each month. For every £1 you contribute we’ll put in another £2, so if you put in 6%, we’ll add 12% giving a total of 18% to your pension pot
  • Life insurance at 10 times basic salary
