National Grid is hiring a Senior Strategy Analyst to join the European Offshore Development team reporting directly to the Strategy Manager.
The team leads the development of the next wave of offshore grid business development activities in conjunction with our EU partners and answers the high-level strategic questions for National Grid interconnectors in Europe and the North Sea.
You will support the organisation in defining and implementing its strategic direction and how to adapt to the changing energy environment, enabling net zero and drive the organisation’s future growth, with a focus on Europe, the North Sea and portfolio strategy.

The role is hybrid so you can enjoy working from our Warwick or London office (depending on where you’re located) as well as working from home.
What you'll do
- Clearly and persuasively articulate the benefits of cross border assets and their role in achieving net-zero.
- Work with Business Development teams, IJV Interconnectors, Corporate Affairs and Finance to ensure alignment on strategic narrative and plans.
- Proactively engage internally (internal stakeholders, senior management, IC executive) to present content, ensuring that our positions are clearly articulated and acted upon.
- Develop high quality content and presentations for senior stakeholders explaining the market view and business strategy for Interconnectors.
- Be part of a high-performing team that provides high quality qualitative & quantitative insight to support strategy development and execution.
- Establish appropriate governance for our strategic programmes and ensure stakeholders adhere to the framework.
- Represent the interests of Interconnectors externally, in bilateral meetings with Ofgem, Government and other industry parties.
What you'll need
- Experience of commercial and/ or strategy development.
- Good understanding of electricity markets in GB and across the EU.
- A strategic thinker, with the ability to see the big picture, but also address shorter term more tactical issues.
- Ability to persuade and influence a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrable programme and project management skills.
- Able to draft and present clear, concise and compelling strategic analysis and recommendations for senior management.
- Proven ability to build high quality relationships both internally and externally and using those to achieve the required outcomes.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £55,208 - £63,000 per annum– dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
