As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for the management of the construction phase of a new flagship control centre building at National Grid. This will involve overseeing the final phases of design, and construction of the main building, installation of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) infrastructure and building handover for Audio-Visual (AV) and Information Technology (IT) installation and operational management.
This role is based out of our Warwick office, with hybrid working and frequent travel to sites. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the construction phase of a flagship control centre, ensuring delivery to cost, quality, and programme, and successful handover for AV/IS installation and building management.
- Ensure compliance with CDM2015 regulations, including safety management, incident reporting, and assurance activities.
- Act as the informed client for all property-related project matters.
- Develop and lead procurement strategies for additional work packages.
- Manage internal client engagement and project brief development.
- Oversee contract management using NEC tools and established contracting frameworks.
- Lead external community relations and ensure high standards of community consideration.
- Oversee security design and implementation during construction.
- Embed sustainable design and construction practices aligned with net zero goals.
- Support business planning with financial modelling, regulatory awareness, and preparation of sanction papers.
- Drive stakeholder engagement through collaborative working and clear communication across teams.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing, innovative team.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement to enhance safety, operational, financial, and customer performance in line with RIIO commitments.
What You’ll Have:
- Proven experience managing construction projects—new builds, fit-outs, and refurbishments—with strong budget control and delivery focus.
- Solid understanding of CDM, Building Regulations, SHE standards, and sustainable building practices (e.g. BREEAM, low-energy design).
- Familiarity with building fabric, systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC), and resilient infrastructure standards such as Uptime Institute guidelines.
- Strong grasp of construction risk, procurement strategies, and contract management—ideally with NEC contract experience.
- Communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across internal teams and external partners.
- Experience in preparing project cost estimates and managing budgets.
- Project Management and Occupational SHE certifications and Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. APM, RICS, CIOB, CIBSE).
- Full UK driving licence.

A competitive salary of up to £70,000 dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance with an on target of 15% (maximum 30%) and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
