About the role
National Grid Interconnectors is at the heart of UK’s transition to our net zero energy future. We operate a number of HVDC Interconnectors that connect the UK’s energy system to some of our closest neighbours, allowing energy to be imported to and exported from the UK.
As well as already owning a portfolio of HVDC Interconnectors, we’re working on developing new projects to ensure that we are able to meet the UK’s future demands for greener energy solutions.
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Contract Analyst on a 15 month maternity cover contract (plus potential extension) to report into the Senior Contract and Commercial Manager and Contract Team Manager.
As a Senior Contract Support Analyst, you will work within the UJV Operations team within National Grid Interconnectors and will be responsible for ensuring we have contracts in place with our supply chain, and suppliers are ready to deliver our operational requirements.
Within the role you will be responsible for a portfolio to ensure we effectively manage the supply chain for our stakeholders, ensuring the right contracting approach is followed for the requirements, mitigating business risks. Working with a variety of stakeholders and suppliers to deliver the business objectives you will also be supporting the wider contract management team.
You will have a basic knowledge and understanding of general contract management, identifying commercial risks, monitoring compliance and supplier relationship management.
This role is based from Warwick and you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home.
What you'll do
- Develop and manage contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure business requirements are met.
- Monitor contract performance and address any issues that arise or escalate where required.
- Provide support and guidance on contract-related matters to other team members and stakeholders.
- Identify discrepancies with contractual information.
- Take the lead on complex issues to identify solutions to resolve.
- Chair and support line manager to facilitate internal and suppliers’ meetings.
- Provide challenge and review of processes to ensure consistency and enable improvements
- Collaborate with CMT and stakeholders to manage purchase orders and invoices
- Providing training and coaching to new starters.
What you'll need
- Strong understanding of contract and supplier relationship management
- A working knowledge or appreciation of using a Contract Management System (CMS), FastDraft and Coupa / an invoicing and payment system.
- Understanding of contract law.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collate and present information in a concise manner to a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment as well as using own initiative.

A competitive salary between £42,781.00 - £50,738.50 per annum – dependent on capability.
