About us

Job Purpose

To provide advice, guidance and facilitation services to all business areas within National Grid on how to best manage information and records, including personal data, to meet business goals and at the same time operating in accordance to legislation, policy and industry best practice.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure compliance of data, information and privacy related legislation and changing regulatory requirements.
  • Develop various records and privacy project deliverables and present deliverables and findings to clients and stakeholders.
  • Work with business teams and senior management to ensure awareness of 'best practicesâ?� on privacy and information and records management.
  • Create and manage an up to date inventory of personal identifiable information, stored within National Grid, and details of the systems storing that personal information.
  • Develop and maintain a network of data privacy champions covering all business areas. Provide relevant and up-to-date training and materials to National Grid's records coordinator and data privacy champions to enable them to monitor, challenge and report on information records and data privacy compliance.
  • Research industry best practice, develop and manage methodologies, processes, standards, guidelines and awareness programs, promoting business involvement. Monitor the external marketplace for emerging trends and apply knowledge for National Grid's use of digital communications for customers.
  • Lead the development of electronic records management solutions for vital business records, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and enable good accessibility through self-service using a range of search criteria based on rich metadata.

Qualifications

  • A good standard of education to SAT, ACT (or equivalent)
  • A thorough knowledge of data privacy legislation is required
  • Professional certification is desirable
