We are currently recruiting for a Project Support Officer to support the Eastern Green Link 5 (EGL5) Western Green Link 2 (WL2) project which is a major offshore electricity transmission joint venture between National Grid and Scottish Power Transmission, spanning England and North Wales.
This role is a 12 month fixed term contract which offers hybrid working, with regular travel to Warwick and occasional travel across the UK required. We’re happy to discuss flexible working arrangements to make this role work for you.
Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Project Support Officer to strengthen our Project Controls capability and contribute to the successful delivery of major HVDC projects across the UK.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive Project Controls support for future offshore initiatives, including Eastern Green Link 5 (EGL5) and Western Link 2 (WL2). You will work closely with the Offshore PMO and PPMO teams, as well as external stakeholders such as Joint Venture partners and consultants.
Key responsibilities include supporting core Project Controls activities such as financial management processes, procurement, change control, risk management, document control, governance, and reporting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the success of high-profile infrastructure projects.
What You'll Do
- Facilitate and chair Change Control meetings, ensuring timely progression of change requests from internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the project team in the monthly reporting cycle, providing accurate and timely updates.
- Manage document control processes within SharePoint to maintain version integrity and accessibility.
- Maintain key project control documentation, including Lessons Learned, Decision Log, and Interface Management Plan.
- Track and ensure completion of assigned actions, following up with owners as required.
- Assist the project team in achieving gate deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure project controls documentation complies with gate requirements and governance standards.
- Support financial tracking, including in-month actuals and forecasting for live contracts and purchase orders.
- Maintain robust information flow to ensure data integrity for accurate reporting of project progress and health.
- Contribute to process development, ensuring project controls adapt effectively as projects evolve.
About You
- Experience supporting project teams with administration and coordination activities.
- Experience using project management tools, including SharePoint and Power BI.
- Understanding of financial management principles and processes.
- Experience preparing reports and schedules, and maintaining project documentation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- APM Project Management qualification (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards achieving one.
What You'll Get
A competitive salary of £37,000- £42,000 per annum, dependent on capability.
