What you'll lead

You’ll head up a specialist team of PLEXOS and power‑system experts, pushing the boundaries of modelling capability. From advanced system analysis to strategic optioneering, your work will deliver the evidence senior leaders rely on to make decisions that shape the nation’s energy landscape.

You will:

• Own and evolve complex transmission network models and modelling standards.
• Translate sophisticated analysis into clear, compelling recommendations for executive stakeholders.
• Drive innovation in modelling methods, automation, and tool interoperability (including DigSILENT PowerFactory).
• Collaborate across engineering, economics, and policy to shape long‑term network strategy.

What You Bring

• A degree (postgraduate preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Economics, or related field.
• Deep expertise in PLEXOS, including model configuration and automation.
• Strong understanding of electricity markets and market design.
• Proven leadership in delivering complex modelling programmes.
• Knowledge of the UK energy system and regulatory environment.
• The ability to simplify complexity and influence at the highest levels.
