Portfolio Governance and Process Analyst
About the role
Shape how the UK delivers major green energy infrastructure.
At National Grid, our Strategic Infrastructure portfolio is at the heart of the UK’s journey to Net Zero. From offshore connections to major transmission upgrades, we’re delivering some of the country’s largest and most complex infrastructure programmes.
We’re now looking for a Portfolio Governance & Process Analyst to help ensure those programmes are governed efficiently, proportionately and with confidence.
Working closely with the Portfolio Governance, Process and Change Manager, you’ll play a key role in strengthening how our portfolio is governed. Through insightful analysis of processes, performance and assurance, you’ll highlight risk, identify opportunities for improvement and help decision‑makers focus on what matters most.
You’ll collaborate across portfolio PMOs and wider business teams to improve consistency, efficiency and delivery assurance – helping us successfully progress critical green energy projects that will power the UK for generations.
This role is based in Warwick, and you’ll enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working, balancing time in the office with time at home.
What you'll be doing
- Support effective and proportionate portfolio governance across major infrastructure programmes.
- Analyse governance, assurance and delivery processes to identify risk, inefficiency and improvement opportunities.
- Support stage gate readiness and quality, helping projects transition successfully through key decision points.
- Contribute to portfolio‑level change control, process improvement and governance standards.
- Partner with PMOs, reporting teams and stakeholders to turn data into meaningful insight.
- Help embed a culture of continuous improvement across Strategic Infrastructure.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience in change management, governance, and project delivery within large‑scale infrastructure in a PMO environment.
- A solid understanding of working within a regulated industry.
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and lead cross‑functional teams.
- Strong working knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, APM).
- Excellent analytical capability, turning complex data into clear insights and improvement actions.
- A detail‑driven approach with a strong commitment to high‑quality delivery.
- Degree‑qualified, or equivalent, in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, Construction, or a related discipline.
- Willingness to travel as required.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £48,000 - £61,000 – dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
