National Grid is hiring a Outreach Programme Coordinator - Based in Warwick National Grid House - Hybrid working.
Job Purpose
As our Outreach Programme Coordinator, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of impactful school outreach and employee volunteering programmes that inspire the next generation and support STEM skills development.
Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will build strong relationships with schools, colleges, education partners and internal stakeholders, ensuring our outreach activities deliver meaningful educational and social value. You will use data, feedback and insight to continuously improve our programmes, broaden participation and maximise impact for young people, schools and communities.
What you'll do
- Lead the end-to-end coordination and delivery of school outreach programmes, ensuring a high-quality and consistent experience for all participants.
- Develop and manage outreach plans, schedules and programme pipelines aligned to organisational priorities.
- Coordinate multiple activities and stakeholders simultaneously, adapting plans to meet changing business and operational needs.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with schools, colleges, STEM organisations and education networks.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for education partners, responding to their needs and coordinating solutions across internal teams.
- Design and deliver engaging STEM volunteering opportunities for employees that provide meaningful support to schools and young people.
- Recruit, support and engage volunteers, providing training, guidance and resources to enable successful delivery.
- Monitor programme activity, maintain accurate records and evaluate impact through data analysis, reporting and stakeholder feedback.
- Produce clear reports and insights to demonstrate outcomes, social value and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the business to embed outreach activity within wider organisational initiatives and ensure effective governance and communications.
- Identify opportunities to increase programme reach, inclusion and effectiveness, implementing improvements and sharing best practice.
About you
You'll be passionate about creating opportunities for young people and engaging colleagues in activities that make a genuine difference in local communities.
You'll also bring:
- Experience coordinating education, STEM, community outreach or volunteering programmes involving multiple stakeholders and activities.
- Experience supporting or managing employee volunteering initiatives, including volunteer engagement, briefing and coordination.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work with schools, education partners and senior internal stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, solve problems and manage competing demands effectively.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data and insights to evaluate programmes and demonstrate impact.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, engage and build credibility with a wide range of audiences.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with the confidence to work autonomously and take ownership of programmes.
- A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, ensuring programmes are accessible and impactful for all participants.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience working directly with schools, colleges or education providers.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and inclusive educational practice.
- Experience supporting social impact, CSR or community engagement initiatives.
- Project management training or equivalent experience.
- A degree or equivalent experience in Education, Community Engagement, Social Sciences, Sustainability/CSR, Business or a STEM-related discipline.
Qualifications
- Educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent) or able to demonstrate relevant experience.
- Safeguarding awareness training, or willingness to complete this within the first three months of employment.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £40,000 - £50,000 – dependent on capability.
