National Grid is hiring for a Network Risk Lead - (Hybrid working - Warwick)
As Network Risk Lead, you will sit at the heart of Asset Management Strategy, shaping how asset risk is understood, quantified, and used to inform long‑term investment across the electricity transmission network in England and Wales.
Taking a whole‑network view, you will translate complex risk modelling outputs into assured, decision‑ready insights that influence strategic planning and value‑based investment decisions. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to embed consistent, best‑practice risk methodologies while directly supporting the UK’s energy transition.
What you'll do
- Provide senior technical leadership on asset‑risk modelling methodologies, ensuring outputs are robust, assured, and aligned to industry best practice
- Transform complex analytical and modelling outputs into clear, practical insights for senior leaders and non‑technical stakeholders
- Support long‑term, value‑based investment decisions by balancing condition, performance, cost, and risk across the whole transmission network
- Work collaboratively across asset management, engineering, and planning teams to embed a consistent network‑wide view of risk
- Engage with external stakeholders and industry bodies to influence and adopt innovative approaches to risk‑informed decision‑making
- Play a key role in shaping how future investment prioritisation supports network resilience and long‑term customer value
About you
- A STEM degree or equivalent professional experience, with strong analytical and quantitative capability
- Proven experience in risk analysis, modelling, or complex analytical work within infrastructure, engineering, or similarly complex environments
- Confident working with data and models to support evidence‑based decision‑making
- Able to interpret complex information and communicate insights clearly and credibly to a wide range of audiences
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder‑management skills, with a track record of delivering shared outcomes across teams
- A solid understanding of value‑focused or risk‑informed decision‑making, with a genuine interest in applying analytics to improve long‑term asset management outcomes
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £60,000 - £78,000 – dependent on capability
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
