Job Purpose

 

As a Network Resilience Manager, you’ll lead the development and delivery of resilience strategy across our operational network. Working at the heart of Network Control, you’ll ensure we are prepared to anticipate, respond to and recover from disruption—while maintaining the highest standards of safety and reliability.

 

This is a high-impact role, offering the opportunity to influence how a vital piece of the UK’s critical infrastructure operates today and in the future.

What you'll do

 

  • Shape and deliver resilience strategy, policies and frameworks across network operations
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, industry partners and government bodies to drive the resilience agenda
  • Identify network risks and implement effective mitigation and control strategies
  • Lead the review of system events, ensuring lessons learned translate into meaningful improvements
  • Oversee and enhance processes such as Energy Not Supplied (ENS) and business continuity planning
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, including ISO22301, and maintain robust continuity arrangements
  • Provide assurance for system restoration capability, ensuring people, processes and systems are prepared
  • Lead crisis management and resilience planning across operational teams
  • Ensure resilience strategies account for external factors such as extreme weather and climate-related risks
  • Drive continuous improvement in network performance, reliability and resilience outcomes
  • Line manage responsibility - Team of 7/9

About you

 

You’re an experienced leader with a background in critical infrastructure or operational environments, where safety, reliability and real-time decision making are essential.

You’ll bring:

 

  • Proven experience leading and developing teams (as a first-line manager or similar)
  • Strong understanding of how large-scale physical networks or control room environments operate
  • Experience from sectors such as:
      • Electricity transmission or distribution
      • Power generation
      • Gas transmission or similar critical infrastructure
  • Confidence working in high-pressure, safety-critical environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • The ability to translate strategy into practical, operational outcomes
  • A proactive, improvement-focused mindset

What you'll get

 

A competitive salary between £67,000 – £77,000 – dependent on capability

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
