As National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) continues its exciting transformation journey, we’re strengthening our focus on performance, insight, and value across the business. This is your opportunity to play a key part in that journey. As a Manager – ICON Systems, you’ll own National Grid’s Group Consolidation system, SAP BPC (ICON), and make sure it runs smoothly day to day. You’ll be the main link between Group External Reporting, wider Business Unit reporting teams, IT & Digital, our support partner, and external advisers when needed. You will also support the NGED Finance Systems to form a united UK Finance Systems Team.
Beyond keeping the system ticking over, you’ll shape the future of ICON and NGED IT Systems – making sure it stays fit for purpose and continues to support the business as accounting requirements and technology evolve. This includes overseeing system upgrades and managing changes linked to group acquisitions and disposals.
You’ll also operate key SOX controls for the system, working closely with our external Auditors and the Finance Risk & Controls team. This role plays a key part in ensuring National Grid’s external reporting is delivered accurately, efficiently, and with confidence.
This role is based out of our Warwick or Bristol office, and we’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!
What You’ll Do:
- Own and manage the Group Consolidation system SAP BPC (ICON), ensuring it runs smoothly day to day.
- Act as the main link between Group External Reporting, Business Unit teams, IT & Digital, our support partner, and external advisers.
- Support and enable end users across the business, providing guidance on system use and changes.
- Lead system enhancements, upgrades, and changes linked to acquisitions, disposals, and evolving requirements.
- Shape the future direction of ICON to ensure it remains fit for purpose and future ready.
- Oversee key SOX controls relating to the system.
- Work closely with our external Auditors and the Finance Risk & Controls team to maintain a strong control environment.
- Play a critical role in delivering accurate, efficient, and high quality external reporting.
What You’ll Have:
- Strong experience administering and owning finance systems, with a solid understanding of SAP BPC (ICON), including master data and account structures.
- A clear sense of ownership and accountability, with the drive to see things through and deliver results.
- A confident and highly effective communicator who is proactive, self motivated, and detail focused.
- The ability to spot opportunities for automation, digitisation, and AI driven improvements across financial systems.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and continuously improving how things are done.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Get:
Up to £68,000 - £75,000 - dependent on experience.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance with on target being 15% (with a maximum of 30%) and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
