That's why we're looking for a talented Internal Communications Specialist on a 6 month FTC to join our team and help bring our purpose, vision and values to life for colleagues across Electricity Transmission.
As a Internal Communications Specialist, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering engaging communications that connect colleagues to our strategy, priorities and culture.
Working as part of the Colleague Communication & Engagement team, you'll develop and deliver communication plans, create compelling content across a variety of channels, and support leaders in communicating with impact. You'll help ensure colleagues are informed, engaged and inspired as we navigate a period of significant change and investment across the business.

The role is hybrid with our office based in Warwick, you can enjoy working from home and office.
What you'll do
- Develop, deliver and measure colleague communication and engagement plans that support key business priorities, programmes and projects.
- Create engaging multi-channel content including articles, blogs, intranet content, Viva Engage posts, presentations, leadership briefings, videos, Q&As and event materials.
- Bring National Grid's purpose, vision and values to life through impactful storytelling and colleague-focused communications.
- Partner with stakeholders across Electricity Transmission to understand communication needs and deliver effective engagement activity.
- Work alongside Corporate Affairs, Public Affairs and Media teams to develop communication approaches for emerging issues and business announcements.
- Manage and maintain communication channels and content calendars, ensuring clear, coordinated and timely messaging.
- Support leadership communication and engagement initiatives, including town halls, conferences, events and colleague forums.
- Measure communication effectiveness and use insights to continuously improve engagement activity.
- Contribute to communication campaigns that support organisational change, business transformation and colleague engagement.
What you'll need
We're looking for a skilled communicator who can build relationships, influence stakeholders and create content that resonates with diverse audiences.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience developing and delivering colleague communication and engagement strategies, plans and campaigns.
- Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences and channels.
- Experience creating content across digital, social, video, print and web-based platforms.
- Strong knowledge of employee communication channels, including intranet and social collaboration tools such as Viva Engage.
- Experience supporting senior leaders with communication planning and content development.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships across a large and complex organisation.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- A creative, proactive approach and a passion for delivering engaging colleague experiences.
- The ability to analyse business issues and translate them into clear, accessible and compelling communications

What you'll get
A competitive salary between £43,315.00 - £47,000.00– dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
