We are currently recruiting for a Head of SHW Planning and Performance within National Grid Ventures reporting into the NGV SHER Director.
The purpose of this role is to lead the Safety, Health and Wellbeing strategy development, performance monitoring and management system maintenance activities within the NGV business unit.
Within the role you will work in collaboration with the NGV business unit SHE leads, acting as a point of co-ordination between NGV operational businesses and the Group SHW team to develop credible strategies and performance metrics, and provide assurance on risk mitigation activities and regulatory and policy compliance.
Your role will be pivotal in driving SHW performance, as you will facilitate SHW Governance activities for the NGV Executive team, and be responsible for compiling and confirming the accuracy of information on SHW performance metrics on a monthly, annual or ad-hoc basis. As well as measuring and monitoring across a suite of established KPI’s, you will continue to develop and mature a suite of leading performance indicators, that offer insight into key SHW controls and management activities.
The role will be hybrid with our office based in Warwick, you can enjoy working from home and the office.
What you'll do
- Develop the NGV SHW strategy and annual delivery plan, aligned to the Group Strategic Roadmap and NGV business operational needs.
- Oversee safety management system maintenance, including document control and Grid Home/ Sharepoint management.
- Own NGV SHW governance, including dashboard development, data verification and performance monitoring.
- Through SHW data analysis, advise on emerging trends and support the development of continual improvement initiatives.
- Support the development and delivery of 2nd line of defence assurance activities.
- Own the implementation of the Cority system for NGV, enabling incident reporting, triage and support incident investigations to establish root causes, providing expert advice to ensure appropriate learning and improvement activities
- Ensure the dissemination and embedding of lessons learned and best practices to promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
What you'll need
- Suitable technical/professional qualification such as degree, certified safety professional &/or equivalent experience
- Strong data analytical skills and National Grid safety data platform knowledge.
- Knowledge and understanding of both UK and US SHW regulations.
- Experience of operating across different levels of business and influencing senior management
- Effective people management and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate articulately and lead by example
- Experienced projects/programmes planner coupled with change management and performance improvement
- Relevant industry experience and appreciation of National Grid business operations.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £70,000 - £80,000 per annum– dependent on capability.
