As a Global Onboarding Specialist, you’ll be responsible for managing and executing the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires across National Grid, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. This includes coordinating pre-employment activities, overseeing tasks completed by joiners, hiring managers, and other teams, and providing continuous support from Day-1 through to first 30 days of employment. Alongside delivering quality onboarding experience, the role will ensure compliance through completion all necessary pre-employment checks, as well as ensuring all joiners have right-to-work documentation
This role will be based out of our Warwick office, and you can enjoy our hybrid working from office (2 days per week) and home.
What You’ll Do:
- End-to-End Onboarding Management: Orchestrate and oversee all onboarding tasks for new joiners, ensuring timely and accurate completion of activities such as welcome calls, pre-employment checks (right to work, background, medical), offer letter/contract generation, offer pack provision and paperwork returns.
- Stakeholder Coordination and Communication: Facilitate communication between new joiners, hiring managers, and relevant functions (HR, IT, etc.), ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and involved in the onboarding process as required and tasks are completed on time.
- Global Mobility and International Assignments: Coordinate outbound global mobility moves for external joiners, collaborating with relevant managers, joiners and third-party mobility/relocation vendors to ensure the successful relo-cation and smooth transition for global assignments.
- Documentation and Compliance Management: Ensure that all necessary documents, including visas, right-to-work verification, background checks, and other signed returns from the joiner are completed accurately and in a timely manner, complying with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Onboarding Support: Provide ongoing support for new joiners from Day 1 to Day 30, addressing any concerns or is-sues and ensuring a smooth integration into the company, while overseeing the manager’s completion of a local induction plan.
- Issue Resolution and No-Show Management: Manage and resolve any onboarding challenges, such as no-show situations, offer withdraw-als, and other issues that may arise during the onboarding process, ensuring all parties are notified and necessary action is taken.
What You’ll Have:
- Experience in HR, ideally within an HR Operations environment, with a strong focus on employee lifecycle management.
- Strong capability in process management to ensure operational efficiency.
- Proven ability in stakeholder coordination, fostering effective collaboration.
- A customer service orientation with the ability to build and maintain professional rapport.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and aptitude for issue resolution.
- A compliance-focused mindset, ensuring adherence to policies and regulations.
- Familiarity with new joiner onboarding activities.
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow, ideally within the HRSD module (desired).
- Understanding of global mobility processes.

A competitive salary of up to £43,104 – dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
