An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Risk & Compliance Analyst to join the Global Capabilities team. Enterprise Business Services (EBS) is at the heart of National Grid and prides itself as a quality provider of efficient and effective services to the whole of National Grid.

 

The Risk and Compliance Analyst will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks within EBS in line with the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.  The postholder will seek assurance across EBS over compliance with legal & regulatory requirements, internal policies, data privacy, business continuity plans and other relevant requirements.

What you'll do

The Risk & Compliance Analyst will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of a comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management framework and delivery of the roadmap for EBS, that encompasses monitoring of risk and controls, legal and regulatory obligations, compliance policies and ethics requirements, including:

 

  • Support with identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks, including regular reviews, updating risk registers (within GRC Archer).
  • Support with implementation of appropriate controls to mitigate all identified risks.
  • Support with fraud and bribery risk assessments.
  • Monitor EBS compliance with legal & regulatory requirements and internal policies; provide guidance on key compliance queries, ensuring any compliance issues are tracked, monitored, managed, and successfully remediated.
  • Perform 1st Line Assurance reviews, including key controls monitoring and reporting, for example,
  • single/sole source compliance; mandatory compliance training; gifts and hospitality, data privacy; business continuity, conflict of interest /related parties, other key ethical requirements.
  • Work alongside EBS operational teams to minimise the impacts of any compliance breaches, taking the lead to ensure the situation is fully investigated, remediated, and communicate breach alerts to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports on risk management and compliance activities for management.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with legal, regulations and internal policies.
  • Work with the Group Risk and Compliance Team to ensure EBS remains up to date on all risk and compliance developments, compliance reminders, lessons learned, policy guidance.
  • Work alongside Business Conduct and Ethics, to ensure ethical standards are embedded across EBS.  

 

What you'll have

  • Part qualified in Institution of Internal Auditors, or Institute of Risk Management (IRM) or Degree or equivalent in Law, Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field are welcome to apply.
  • Experience in risk management, internal controls, and compliance or a related area.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards will be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, and stakeholder management.
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to manage own workload, to meet deadlines and desired levels of quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll get

Up to £51,000 dependent upon experience.

 

As well as your base salary you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
