We’re looking for an engaging and credible leader to step into a role with real scale and purpose. This role combines leading a large, diverse team with close partnership across a fast paced, data driven business area, driving forecasting, reporting and meaningful change. You’ll work closely with Directors and senior leaders in National Grid Electricity Transmission, helping deliver the biggest infrastructure upgrade the organisation has seen in decades.

As Director of Capital & Investment for Electricity Transmission, you’ll have end to end ownership of investment performance across our delivery vehicles. You’ll provide assurance, challenge and insight on processes, investment numbers and delivery outcomes, acting as a key interface with senior finance and business stakeholders. You’ll also lead a team of 35+ colleagues across the UK and India, creating a high performing, inclusive environment.
The role is based in Warwick, with an expectation of at least two days a week in the office. We’re open to flexible working arrangements and happy to discuss what you need to be successful in the role.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead a high impact finance function, combining strategic oversight with hands on partnership across a fast paced, data driven business.
- Work closely with Directors and senior leaders in Electricity Transmission to help deliver the biggest infrastructure upgrade in decades.
- Play a critical role in enabling Net Zero by supporting the connection of new green generation and customer demand.
- Take end to end ownership of capital and investment performance across Transmission delivery vehicles.
- Provide strong review, challenge and assurance of investment numbers, processes and delivery outcomes.
- Act as a key interface between senior finance and business stakeholders, influencing at the highest level.
- Lead and develop a large, diverse team of 35+ colleagues across the UK and India, fostering an inclusive, high performing culture.
What You’ll Have:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with post qualified experience at a senior level.
- You have significant experience in reporting financial information, as well as planning, forecasting, and budgeting across a variety of projects.
- You’ve interacted and managed a broad range of stakeholders and have experience working across multiple teams to deliver objectives and commercial decisions with relevant financial information.
- You’re comfortable leading and working as part of a virtual team and are prepared to travel to sites on an adhoc basis.
- You have experience working within a Record to Report/Business Services function, understanding the various upstream and downstream data and processes.
- Strong experience in MS Excel and SAP is key to the role.
- Good understanding of core financial processes.
- Proactive self-starter with ability to manage own workload, to time and desired levels of quality.
- Pragmatic can adapt quickly to a changing environment and can adapt approaches and utilise and align skills to different customer groups.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and collaboration skills.
- Strong results orientation.

What You'll Get:
Competitive Salary dependant on experience.
