About The Role

This is the time for action – we need to move at pace and reform our energy system – to deliver energy security, to tackle climate change and to protect our people.
The digital product team covers all major projects across Strategic Infrastructure Spanning the whole of the UK.
Our team of around 20 are growing and we are seeking 2 new Digital Product Managers to help guide our colleagues through full life cycle software Implementations.
You’ll be involved in everything from product design to production, mapping the digital landscape and defining the long-term roadmap. You will work closely with colleagues to understand their digital requirements and turn this into products for them to use.
You’ll be delivering greenfield digital technologies to help deliver some of the biggest capital delivery projects in the UK, overseeing the lifecycle of digital products that will help make Net Zero happen as part of the Great Grid Upgrade.
You’ll be given great autonomy and the opportunity to deliver meaningful change at the heart of the energy transition.
This role is based at our Warwick office which has free onsite parking, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home.
Leveraging this hybrid working, this team currently work typically 1 day per week in the office, which is dependent on personal and business needs. Further trips on a monthly basis may be required to offices in London or Edinburgh.
We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.
About You
We are seeking influential and persuasive Digital Product Managers who champion creativity and innovation at National Grid. Your main attributes will include:
- Decision-Making: Making informed decisions swiftly, even with incomplete information, while demonstrating strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
- Effective Communication: Leveraging strong verbal and written skills to listen actively and identify colleagues' needs, translating complex IT concepts into accessible language for all stakeholders.
- User Experience Focus: Delivering digital products in a fast-paced agile environment, prioritising exceptional user experiences and challenging the status quo with a customer-centric mindset.
- Digital Delivery: Significant experience in digital product delivery, with a broad business knowledge.
Experience in Construction or Utilities is strong preference but not essential.
What You'll Do
You will lead the transformation of digital initiatives at National Grid. In this pivotal role, you will:
- Build Collaborative Relationships: Fostering strong partnerships with colleagues and subject matter experts to inspire innovative thinking and influence decisions for mutual benefit.
- Drive Digital Culture: Championing the adoption of digital products, you'll ensure alignment with National Grid's strategic direction and making digital a reality.
- Lead Product Development: Overseeing scoping, requirements definition, and priority setting, managing the entire delivery and operational lifecycle of digital products.
- Define Vision and Strategy: Communicating the digital roadmap, prioritising features and enhancements while staying informed about industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Secure Investment: Developing compelling investment cases for new digital products, you'll gain buy-in and financial approvals from senior leadership.
- Navigate Governance: Acquiring stakeholder support for initiatives, you'll effectively manage digital governance processes.
- Develop Cross-Functional Teams: You'll cultivate a balanced team environment, identifying learning opportunities and providing necessary support for team members.
- Resolve Issues: You will act as the ultimate escalation point for issue resolution within your field.

The British Energy Security Strategy set out the Government's ambition to connect up to 50GW of offshore generation to the electricity network by 2030. Facilitating this ambition will require significant reinforcements to the onshore electricity transmission network. National Grid Strategic Infrastructure will make this happen.

What You'll Get
A competitive starting salary between £70,000 – £75,000 – dependent on capability with annual reviews in July.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
