Digital Product Line Director
About us
At National Grid, we keep people connected and society moving. But it’s so much more than that. National Grid provides the environment, support, and purpose that enable us to make real impact. As we drive momentum in the energy transition for all, we’re committed to ensuring none of our customers are left in the dark.
So, join us as a Digital Product Line Director, and find your superpower.
National Grid is hiring a Digital Product Line Director. Based in our Warwick office with hybrid working, this is a pivotal, high-impact role at the heart of our most ambitious Transmission investment programme, leading the creation of a digital-by-default approach to infrastructure development.
You’ll shape how major projects are designed, enabled, and scaled from the outset, building innovative digital products that drive transparency, smarter decision-making, and future-ready, operable networks at scale.
About The Role
At National Grid, we’re not just responding to the energy transition, we’re leading it. We are at the heart of the Great Grid Upgrade, a once-in-a-generation programme that will transform the UK’s electricity network and enable a cleaner, more secure energy future. This is a multi billion pound investment shaping critical national infrastructure at unprecedented scale, and digital is central to how it will be delivered.
To make this possible, we are fundamentally rethinking how we design, develop, and deliver our Transmission network, placing data, digital, and technology at the core of every decision from day one.
As a Digital Product Line Director, you won’t just lead products, you will shape how billions of pounds of infrastructure investment are conceived, prioritised, and delivered. Sitting within Portfolio Strategy & Development (PS&D), you’ll build and lead a world-class, digital-by-default early-stage development function. Your work will directly influence how the Great Grid Upgrade is planned and executed, embedding innovation, transparency, and smarter decision-making into the very foundation of our programmes.
This is about moving beyond traditional project delivery to create a capability-led, product-driven model, where digital solutions enable better choices, faster delivery, and more resilient, future-ready networks. You’ll help define how major infrastructure programmes are designed, from initial concept and network strategy through to operability and long-term system performance.
This is a rare opportunity to operate at the intersection of national infrastructure, large-scale investment, and cutting-edge digital innovation. Acting as a strategic partner to senior leaders, you’ll play a critical role in shaping how digital enables and accelerates our most important Transmission programmes.
You’ll work across strategy, technology, and delivery, bringing clarity to complexity, aligning senior stakeholders, and setting the standard for how digital drives value at scale. If you’re motivated by the chance to influence nationally significant investment, solve complex challenges, and leave a lasting legacy on the UK’s energy system, this is your opportunity to shape the networks of the future, starting now.
