Data Product Manager
About the role
Join Us in Powering a Cleaner, Smarter Energy Future.
At National Grid, we’re investing in the data capabilities that will drive the UK’s journey to Net Zero.
As a Data Product Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of solving complex data challenges that support the electrification of the economy and shape the future of our energy system. You’ll join a growing community of data professionals working across a diverse range of business challenges – with plenty of opportunities to learn, innovate, and influence.
As a key member of our Data Product Team, you will work with engineers, operational teams, planners, performance analysts and regulatory colleagues to ensure they have accurate, accessible and easy‑to‑use data that enables informed decision‑making. Our products span BI reporting (KPIs), data integration between applications, and data science models that support the delivery of the largest overhaul of the electricity grid in generations.
You will be accountable for the end‑to‑end success of a portfolio of data products – from shaping vision and strategy through to delivery, adoption, and measurable value creation. This role will influence how data supports business performance across National Grid Strategic Infrastructure.
This role is based in Warwick, and you’ll enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working, balancing time in the office with time at home. There will also be some business travel to London.
Key accountabilities
- Define and evolve the data product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with business strategy, digital roadmap, and overall data strategy.
- Develop, own, and communicate multi‑year product roadmaps, balancing new capabilities, technical debt, and regulatory or risk‑driven change.
- Shape and prioritise the product portfolio using value, risk, cost, and dependencies to maximise benefits and ROI.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, and Engineering Leads to translate strategic outcomes into epics, features, and enabling work.
- Lead senior stakeholder engagement, securing alignment on priorities, benefits, and trade‑offs across functions and programmes.
- Define and track product KPIs, OKRs, and ROI, using data to inform investment decisions and pivot where needed.
