National Grid is recruiting a new and exciting role Commercial Analyst to join our Commercial and Regulation Strategy Team!

 

As a Commercial Strategy Analyst within the Commercial Excellence function, the role supports the development and delivery of frameworks, tools, and insights to optimise commercial capability and enable Net Zero outcomes across Strategic Infrastructure. Working across onshore and offshore projects, the analyst collaborates with commercial teams to produce data-driven insights, delivery materials, and business cases, while ensuring alignment and consistency across National Grid.

 

The role contributes to both new initiatives and ongoing projects, helping embed Commercial Excellence and improve infrastructure delivery.

 

This role is based out of our Warwick office. We hope to see you in the office at least 2 days. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!

What You'll Do

  • Creating and maintaining business reports and dashboards to provide insight across the portfolio.
  • Monitoring key metrics against performance targets, supporting improved commercial outcomes.
  • Supporting the development of business cases and strategic initiatives, driving performance and operational efficiency.
  • Support the delivery of Commercial Excellence priorities through the development and implementation of frameworks, tools and standards that drive consistency across Strategic Infrastructure.
  • Apply structured analysis and problem-solving to develop data-led insights that inform commercial decision-making, including performance tracking, benchmarking and identification of risks and opportunities.
  • Support the development of commercial strategies and business cases, coordinating cross-functional inputs and ensuring alignment with governance and Commercial Excellence principles.
  • Collaborate effectively across a matrix organisation, engaging stakeholders to gather insights and support the delivery of cross-portfolio initiatives and improved commercial outcomes.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations clearly through high-quality outputs and support continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and promoting best practice across the portfolio.

What You'll Have

  • Degree level education or equivalent.
  • Driving License and ability to travel if needed.
  • Proactive, capable, respectful and flexible, you know how to engage with others and can collaborate effectively with a variety of people.
  • You have some experience of either strategy or commercial management; stakeholder management experience is essential and project management experience is desirable.
  • Ideally you will understand a regulated environment, capital delivery and construction.
  • The role will involve hybrid working and you’ll need the flexibility to travel where needed.
  • An analytical mindset with a passion for improving things.
  • Good written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment.

What You'll Get

Salary between £48,000 - £53,000 dependent on experience.
