About the role
At National Grid, we're building a cleaner, fairer and more resilient energy system. To help us deliver that ambition, we're looking for a Category Buyer to join our Group Indirects Procurement team, supporting the Facilities Management category across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships and supporting business stakeholders to achieve value, compliance and performance across a diverse portfolio of Facilities Management contracts and services.
Working within a collaborative procurement team, you'll contribute to sourcing activities, contract management and supplier performance improvement while supporting the delivery of best-in-class procurement practices.
The role is hybrid with our base office in Warwick, we would expect to see you at least twice a week in our office.
Please note you will need to have a full UK driving licence as occasional travel to different sites may be required.
What you'll do
- Support the delivery of procurement activities across the Facilities Management category
- Manage sourcing events and procurement projects from requirement through to contract award
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Supporting contract and supplier performance management activities
- Identifying opportunities to drive value, efficiency and continuous improvement
- Ensuring compliance with relevant procurement policies, regulatory requirements and governance standards
What you'll need
We're looking for someone with a passion for procurement and supplier management, who can build effective relationships and deliver commercial value.
You'll ideally have:
- CIPS Level 4 qualification and be working towards Level 5 or Level 6
- Experience managing Professional Services contracts and frameworks
- Knowledge of regulated or public sector procurement environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment
Experience within Facilities Management, Utilities or Security categories would be advantageous but is not essential.
A full UK driving licence is required.

A competitive salary between £42,781.00 - £50,738.50 per annum – dependent on capability.
