This role is central to delivering the NGET Assurance Plan, embedding the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework across the business, and ensuring our assurance activities generate insight that sparks continual improvement, sharper risk awareness, and more effective controls.

What's in it for you

 

A competitive salary between £66,000 - £80,000 per annum– dependent on capability.

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.

What you'll be up to

 

 

• Lead and develop a team of Senior Assurance Specialists, Leads, and Analysts, to deliver high quality second line assurance.

• Build, manage, and deliver the annual second-line assurance programme, reporting outcomes to senior leadership and governance forums.

• Provide expert advice, oversight, support and challenge to the first line on risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and control design.

• Deliver high-quality, timely assurance reports, ensuring findings are well-evidenced, pragmatic, and value-adding.

• Support the Head of Risk & Controls in implementing the controls assurance strategy and embedding the Group risk framework across NGET.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree or relevant professional certifications preferred.
  • Relevant work experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrated research and analytical skills, including the ability to critically assess multiple perspectives and clearly distill complex issues.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to connect insights to broader themes.
  • Strong quantitative capabilities, including the ability to perform complex spreadsheet analysis and to interpret or review analytical work completed by others.
