This is a brand‑new opportunity to shape how Strategic Infrastructure (SI) delivers assurance. As our second line control testing specialist, you’ll bring the SI Assurance Plan to life – partnering with stakeholders across SI to plan, coordinate and deliver control tests on time, every time.

 

You’ll work hand‑in‑hand with the Assurance Manager to review and calibrate testing, ensuring a consistent, high‑quality approach that builds confidence in our controls. Just as importantly, you’ll turn findings into meaningful insight and analysis – spotlighting what’s working, where we can strengthen, and helping SI make smarter decisions and drive continuous improvement.

 

This role is based in Warwick, and you’ll enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working, balancing time in the office with time at home.

Key accountabilities

  • Deliver control tests, align to the SI second line assurance plan.
  • Support the development of the Terms of Reference for the control test and submits to the Assurance Manager for approval.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of the control testing activity.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders including risk owners and control owners.
  • Maintain the SI PPMO Assurance Plan and produce insights and trends to influence decision making and future risk-based assurance plans.    
  • Support the development of a Community of Practice for Assurance in SI and actively communicate and share best practice across the SI Assurance community.

About you

  • Background in audit and assurance, or a related discipline, including involvement in enterprise risk management (ERM) activities within a large organisation.
  • Proven experience in control testing.
  • An understanding of the wider Strategic Infrastructure (SI) business and the related compliance landscape.
  • A demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt and work with new control testing and wider assurance methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to present clearly and professionally.
  • Full UK driving licence.


Desirable

  • Experience within infrastructure, utilities, or major capital projects.
  • Lead Auditor training.
  • Working towards, or interest in pursuing, CIA or IRM chartered status.

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £48,000 - £61,000 – dependent on capability.
