About The Role
Are you ready to launch your career in enterprise technology and make a real impact on how finance operates across National Grid? Join our SAP Solution Engineering team as a SAP Graduate Analyst, where you’ll help deliver innovative finance solutions using SAP tools and products.
Our SAP S/4HANA finance system sits at the heart of National Grid’s ERP landscape, supporting key teams such as Accounting Operations, Capital Accounting, and Operational Finance. As a graduate analyst, you’ll work alongside experienced functional and technical consultants to support design, build, and test activities across projects focused on Asset Health, Continuous Improvement, and Project Delivery.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a structured, logical thinker to take their first steps toward becoming an SAP consultant. You’ll gain hands-on experience, develop technical and analytical skills, and contribute to solutions that help power millions of homes and businesses.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Develop a strong understanding of National Grid’s IT, finance, and business unit strategies, as well as SAP products and their roadmap.
- Use SAP S/4HANA and related tools to deliver value for finance processes by capturing business requirements, writing specifications, making configuration changes, and integrating SAP with non-SAP systems.
- Support testing, demos, and enhancements of SAP solutions, adapting based on stakeholder feedback.
- Collaborate with third-party SAP consultancies and review their work to ensure quality and alignment.
- Learn to deliver SAP changes safely using both Waterfall and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
Our Graduate Programme
As you'll be joining our 18-month graduate programme, you'll have a tailored development pathway to support you as you develop a wide range of leadership, business, and technical skills. You'll attend in-person and virtual development sessions throughout your programme to equip you with the essential skills required, as you begin your career at National Grid. We're committed to the personal development of our colleagues so as well as the support from your line manager as you navigate your new role, you'll also have access to 121 coaching and a mentor, from a previous cohort to help you transition from campus to corporate life.
All graduates complete the core development programme to develop key skills such as how to make an impact, giving feedback and presentation skills. Aligned to our IT & Digital pathway you’ll develop your IT technical skills including AGILE and Scrum. You’ll also gain important insights in engineering and electricity to help broaden your understanding of our business and industry.
We believe in the importance of getting as much on-the-job experience as possible and to do this, you will complete three 6-month placements, across the UK, designed to deepen your understanding of your speciality but to also broaden your knowledge of our business. At the end of your 18-month programme you’ll return to your initial placement area to kickstart your superpowered career.
What you'll need to apply
You'll need to achieve, or be working towards, a minimum 2:2 in a Accounting, Business & IT, Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, Information Technology, Management of Business Information Technology (MBIT), Mathematics, or Statistics. It doesn’t matter when you graduated or if you are currently working towards your qualification. We just need you to be eager to apply your knowledge in a real-world setting.
Location
This role is based in Warwick and may offer flexible hybrid working, where possible.
