Senior Financial Accountant, Accounting and Financial Reporting
About us
To be responsible for the preparation of the annual Statutory Accounts, Regulatory Accounts, and other external reporting matters required by legislation, listing rules, licences and external regulatory bodies. Also responsible in assisting with the financial close process, ensuring that high quality, timely and consistent reporting is produced.
- Be responsible for the preparation of the annual Statutory Accounts, Regulatory Accounts, and other external reporting matters required by legislation, listing rules, licences and external regulatory bodies.
- Implement new accounting standards, maintaining accounting policies and providing expert accounting advice to all parts of the business to ensure compliance and maximum value for National Grid.
- Support the timely completion of annual tax packs, liaising with the Tax department regarding completion of tax computations and ensuring the correct treatment of all accounts items.
- Be responsible for the management of the Fixed Asset Register and financial close process.
- Provide cash flow forecasting, emergency payment and clearing of payment files.
- Undertake critical balance sheet reconciliations including control accounts, fixed assets and bank accounts as well as performing intercompany reconciliations.
- Lead the high quality documentation of end to end processes and controls to meet regulatory compliance requirements.
- Contribute to and proactively support the implementation of accounting policy or system changes, highlighting potential risks or opportunities to ensure service standards are not negatively impacted.
