National Grid is hiring a Senior Data Analyst for our Finance Data Reporting department. This position can be located in Waltham, MA, Brooklyn, NY, Hicksville, NY, Albany, NY or Syracuse, NY 

  

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Analyst to join our Enterprise Data Reporting Office (EDRO). As a Senior, you will be responsible for leading the creation, design, and delivery of high-value technical reports and dashboards that provide valuable business insights. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineering, Reporting Analysts, and Business Stakeholders to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of reporting content that support data-driven decision-making.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage the implementation of cross-functional processes, directing a matrixed team of global team members from EDRO internal team and adjacent teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and workflow pain points. Provide recommendations on reporting solutions formats, layouts, and delivery mechanisms.
  • Utilize data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, etc.) to design, implement, and maintain robust reporting solutions that effectively communicate complex data analysis findings, insights, and recommendations.
  • Capability to explore/interrogate AI-driven solutions in a practical manner, being open to new ideas but prioritizing important over interesting.
  • Be vocal in proposing technical solutions to stakeholders based on best-practices, avoid manual or “offline” reporting solutions where possible.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data visualization and reporting techniques.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering EDRO members and IT to enhance data warehouse and technical reporting capabilities.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of technical reports, adhering to established quality standards.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on accessing and interpreting technical reports.
  • Stay informed about data privacy and security regulations to ensure compliance in report development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with concentration in Computer Science, Business, or a related quantitative discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years high-level data analysis experience required; must be able to visualize and interpret data.
  • Experience with one or more of the following platforms required:
  • Power BI or an equivalent enterprise business intelligence platform (at least 3 years)
  • Snowflake or similar data warehouse/datalake platform
  • Proficiency with SQL querying and knowledge of data modeling preferred.
  • Data regression modeling and forecasting experience preferred.
  • Comfort working asynchronously as part of a Global (UK + US) team – morning(US) availability is essential.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with an appreciation for the relationship between data quality, key performance indicators, and the Company’s success.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, combining listening skills with the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.

More Information

This is a hybrid role working ~2days/week from our office.

Annual Salary: 

$108,000-$126,000
