Job Purpose
Be part of a team that manages environmental compliance in the New England Jurisdiction. You will be responsible for tracking regulated waste to ensure regulatory compliance, developing environmental reports, applications, and registrations for submittal to federal, state, and local agencies. Some administrative tasks such as invoice processing, purchase order (PO) management, and other office-based tasks are also an aspect of the job. Your responsibilities will be proactively supporting the environmental department in our day-to-day operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage waste tracking documentation including ensuring compliance with federal hazardous waste manifesting processes.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across the business to develop data necessary for environmental reporting to federal, state, and local agencies, and prepare reports, applications, and registrations.
- Track environmental data in applicable company databases and systems. Produce reports utilizing this information.
- Develop and maintain environmental procedures and guidance documents.
- Track and participate in emerging laws and regulations discussions.
- Support the company’s ISO 14001 Certification by preparing operations and participating in internal and external program audits.
- Maintain POs and contracts for waste services, emergency response vendors, environmental consultants, disposal sites, and laboratories.
- Perform administrative tasks associated with department functions such as invoice processing, PO management, non-standard payments, and other miscellaneous tasks as directed.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural or applied sciences, or related field of study.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental compliance regulations to facilitate activities described above in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
- 5-8 years of experience coordinating environmental compliance work in New England, preferably related to utility operations.
- Proficient in relevant software e.g., SAP, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Exhibit high personal standards of commitment and integrity.
- Required valid driver’s license with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.
Salary
$107,000 - $125,000 a year
