Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you’ll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.
About the Position
Are you ready to step up and make a difference? As an Associate Supervisor, you will provide support for the supervision of a team ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of facilities. In this role, you will effectively and efficiently accomplish tasks in line with departmental and National Grid requirements. You’ll work closely with construction managers, project managers, and field crews to tackle challenges in the field related to transmission, overhead, and underground lines and substations. This is an on-site role that can be based in Waltham, Worcester, Brockton, or North Andover MA
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll help deliver safe and secure energy to homes, communities, and businesses. Here’s what you’ll be up to:
- Team Leader: Drive the performance of a diverse team, addressing issues like sickness, discipline, and work standards to keep everything running smoothly.
- Quality Checker: Assist with inspections and Quality Assurance to ensure that contractors and internal teams are following company specs, standards, and policies.
- Safety Advocate: Identify and document any safety or environmental incidents, ensuring we get to the root cause and implement corrective actions.
- Pre-Construction Prep: Participate in contractor orientations or pre-construction meetings and keep all documentation in line with our Safety Policy and Procedures.
- Documentation Pro: Ensure all required forms, records, reports, and support documentation for projects are completed accurately.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Project Management, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Graduated between May 2025 and June 2026
- Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 8, 2026, or July 13, 2026
- Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy
- Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)
It would be awesome if you had
- An engineering background
- Project management or construction experience
- Experience working with a utility/energy company

Salary Range
Waltham, Worcester, Brockton, or North Andover MA $82,000 - $96,000 a year
You must reside within our existing footprint, which includes contiguous states (New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont). Our hybrid working approach applies to all colleagues who have a role which has the flexibility to be done hybrid across the National Grid group. Operational requirements mean that not all roles are suitable for hybrid working. Managers are responsible for determining whether a role is conducive to hybrid working. A hybrid worker should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to their assigned primary office.
