Electrician 3/C
Key Accountabilities
- Perform Electrical Construction duties related to the maintenance and construction of electrical substations.
- Mechanical and electrical duties include assembly of conduit, running wire, pipe threading, and various other types of electrical maintenance and construction type duties as assigned. All other duties properly assignable to an employee of this classification.
Qualifications
- Must be able to read and write English legibly.
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be physically able bodied and a safe and careful worker.
- Have four years of electrical vocational school, post-grad in electrical field training or participation in apprentice program of related field is required for this classification.
- Work under adverse weather conditions during emergencies.
- Possess both electrical and mechanical aptitude and ability to advance to Electrician 1st class as set forth by the department’s progressions guidelines.
- Possess and maintains an unrestricted valid driver’s license. Participate in and continually pass the DOT drug and alcohol testing program.
- Obtain and retain any license or certificate required for this classification. (CDL, HOISTING, and Federal Crane License or certification).
- Must be able to obtain a company hydraulic license and be able to operate various equipment including crane truck, construction fork lift, man-lift and other equipment.
- Be available for scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
- May be required to handle substances considered hazardous under the U.S. Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Law or Massachusetts Right to Know Law.
- Accept assignments anywhere within service territory.
- Become familiar with company standards and work methods.
- Become familiar with system one lines and complete company Clearance & Control Training Program and pass Clearance & Control Testing within 1 year
Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
