About the role

 

Be part of one of the UK’s most ambitious electricity infrastructure programmes. This role supports a major National Grid Strategic Infrastructure project in Northwest Wales, bringing together multiple delivery partners to strengthen the country’s transmission network. As one of 17 Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) projects, this programme is on a fast‑track pathway to increase grid capacity and play a critical role in enabling the UK’s 2030 and 2050 net zero ambitions and the transition to home‑grown energy.

 

As Document Controller, you will sit at the heart of the project, taking ownership of the end‑to‑end management of project information within the Common Data Environment and SharePoint. You’ll ensure information is controlled, traceable, auditable and fully compliant with National Grid Strategic Infrastructure standards, while maintaining consistent document workflows, metadata, access permissions and communications across all partners throughout the project lifecycle.

 

This is a highly collaborative, on‑site role, with an expectation to be based on site 4-5  days per week, working closely with project teams and delivery partners to support the successful delivery of this nationally significant infrastructure project.

This role is based in North Wales. This role involves regular travel to office locations and project delivery sites/ substations, primarily within the region surrounding your contractual base location. Occasional nationwide travel may also be required, depending on project demands. 

About you

 

  • Proven experience as a Document Controller on large infrastructure/construction projects
  • Sound understanding of document control processes, version control, and audit requirements.
  • Strong hands‑on experience administering commercially available cloud-based project and document management systems e.g ‑based project and document management
    • Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
    • Aconex
    • Viewpoint
  • Strong hand son experience managing SharePoint based collaboration spaces‑on experience managing SharePoint‑based
  • Experience working with multiple contractors, consultants, and stakeholders on complex projects.
  • Able to be on site in North wales 4/5 days per week

What you'll do

 

  • Manage the Common Data Environment workflows, metadata, and controlled libraries
  • Administer the project SharePoint,
  • Control document issue, revision, and distribution
  • Maintain the Master Document Register
  • Initiate and police document and drawing approval and acceptance workflows.
  • Manage user access and carry out audits on both CDE and Share Point
  • Implement the Document Communication Plan
  • Ensure compliance with National Grid SI standards
  • Additional project support administration activities

A competitive salary up to £55,000 – dependent on capability.
