We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to help improve and support our ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS). You’ll help build a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the business. By putting strong quality processes in place and supporting improvements, you’ll help us meet regulations, deliver reliable services, and protect vital national infrastructure for the UK's energy future.
The role
You’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving our ISO 9001 QMS, supporting ISO recertification across multiple National Grid Electricity Transmission sites. Working closely with teams, you’ll plan and deliver audits, strengthen assurance, and promote consistent, high‑quality ways of working.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering ISO 9001 audits and maintaining the QMS across multiple sites and projects.
- Developing and delivering an effective internal audit programme for the Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Providing expert guidance on IMS policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Using quality performance data and reporting to inform decisions and drive improvements.
- Leading initiatives to reduce risk, address non‑conformities, and improve business practices.
- Supporting quality assurance activities from tender evaluation through to delivery to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Requirements:
You’ll bring hands-on experience improving quality management systems in complex environments, with a practical understanding of ISO 9001. You can deliver internal audits, use data to target improvements, and drive corrective actions through to completion. You’re a clear communicator, confident with stakeholders, proactive and detail-focused. Including the following:
- IRCA Lead Auditor (CQI) qualification, or equivalent
- Experience working within ISO-certified quality management systems
- Full UK driving licence (site visits required)
Pay and Benefits
- £48,374 to £55,000 pa salary + Bonus (2025 up to 4%)
- Contributory pension scheme up to 6% - company contribution up to 12%. Totalling 18%.
- 26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days.
- 37 hours Mon - Fri
