We’re currently hiring for a Project Support Officer to join our Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2) project, to support on the installation of a 68km of onshore HVDC Cables from Fraisthorpe in the East Riding of Yorkshire to the new converter station site next to Drax Power Station. This role requires at least 3 days a week travel to sites across Fraisthorpe and Drax and regularly travel to the main office in Market Weighton. Job Purpose
EGL2 is a 2GW high voltage direct current (HVDC) electrical ‘superhighway’ cable link to be built between Peterhead in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and Drax in North Yorkshire, England. The project is being jointly developed by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks Transmission (SSENT) and National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET). The construction phase of the project is due to commenced in July 2025, with completion of the project planned for 2029.
The main duties of the role will be to support the Project Delivery Team with a wide range of administrative responsibilities. As the Project Support Officer, you will provide administrative support, including preparing documents, coordinating meetings, managing diaries and ensuring smooth coordination, documentation, and communication across projects.
What You'll Do
- Support the PMO Leads with all aspects of the PMO.
- Support Project Managers in organising and managing meetings.
- Manage action logs and prioritising workload for the team.
- Prepare reporting packs for presentation at forums / meetings / stakeholder events.
- Support the Document Controller with management of the Project SharePoint & ACC sites.
- Manage internal project communications.
- Process and progress Change Requests.
- Act as Technical Secretary in various meetings.
- Prepare governance documentation ahead of gate reviews.
About You
- Experience of working in a successful project delivery team.
- A desire to progress their career into project management.
- APM Project Management Qualifications (or similar) or keen to work towards this.
- An awareness of project lifecycle processes and stage gates.
- Good stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to build strong relationships across multiple teams quickly.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work in a collaborative team.
- Experience within major projects and/or knowledge of Project Controls and Reporting principles is desirable.
- Full, Clean UK Driving License

A competitive salary of £38,000 – £42,000 per annum, depending on capability.
