Project Supervisor - South East
About the role
As owners of Wales and England’s electricity transmission network we are responsible for the decarbonisation of the energy system. This is an essential part of the country’s Net Zero journey, and in order to make it happen we need to successfully deliver a portfolio of new, green, infrastructure projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help play a key role in developing the electricity network so that we can connect and transport more renewable and low carbon energy to our homes and businesses, to enable the UK to meet its climate, energy security commitments and net zero target.
As Project Supervisor, you'll be National Grid's representative as part of the Infrastructure Delivery (ID) team, working on projects within the Central/Southeast region, which include development and delivery works associated with new substation builds, existing substation extensions or upgrades, overhead lines, as well as H.V cable routes.
Essentially, you'll ensure all site-based construction activities delivered by our principal contractors are efficiently managed in accordance with National Grid policies and procedures. You'll administer the duties of 'Client representative' with a keen eye on safety, environmental, sustainability and the quality of the installation.
You'll also be required to support NG site teams to ensure CDM regs are met, provide support when ordering plant and equipment, undertake regular safety audits/walks and hold coordination meetings with all parties on site during project delivery. In addition, you'll complete 'Site Visit Reports' or facilitate site visits with designers.
We have projects in the Central/Southeast region (central M4 corridor to Richborough, Kent), so you would need to be located within this area. Travel will be required within the region to sites and offices (including occasional overnight stays) and can be combined with working from home.
