BTNO is an upgrade involving nearly 30km of underground and overground new infrastructure.
The PS is a site based role, key responsibilities will be for delivering a Safe successful project by working with the wider team and PC to ensure the highest of standards & compliance re safety, quality & environmental compliance, and driving excellence from the PC’s and contractors. This is a site based role so travel and staying away will be required if not within the locality of the project office
You’ll be joining an immediate team of 10 (working on the cables and OHL section of the BTNO) and a wider team of around 40
This role will have the requirement to be onsite in Suffolk 5 days a week due to demand of the project.
About you
· Demonstrated experience in project supervision for complex, high-value 400/275kV overhead line (OHL) and cable projects.
· Capable of collaborating effectively with all stakeholders, both internal and external, as well as the principal contractor, to achieve programme milestones.
· Strong technical engineering knowledge of cable systems and overhead lines (400/275kV).
· Able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with diverse challenges. Must be resilient, driven, and proficient in prioritising and managing time effectively, especially when faced with unexpected situations.
· Exhibits strong teamwork skills and the ability to engage effectively with others. Makes decisions with a focus on the greater good, considering the impact on local communities and stakeholders
· Experience in Development Consent Orders and/or local planning approvals to facilitate construction, is desirable but not essential,
· Knowledgeable in the application of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).
What you'll do
To supervise nationally significant green energy projects
• It will be your job to ensure contractors work to agreed specs and safety and quality standards. You’ll be feeding back on progress to the Project Manager, acting as an intermediary between contractors and the project management team.
• You will need to be as self starter working collaboratively with the principle contractor in a fast paced dynamic delivery environment
• Ensure that the Principal Contractor (PC) is pro-active in discharging their duties under the CDM regulations, not least in managing all safety aspects of the construction-based activities .
• Review and comment on the deliverability of the PC Site Delivery Programmes and proactively
• monitor all activities, promptly advising the EPC Project Manager of any risks, opportunities or
• delays to programme which could impact the overall completion date or costs at completion
• Ensure the facilitation of regular site safety walks, holding coordination meetings with all contractors
• on site, ensuring that access/egress to the site is controlled and maintaining a site log/diary.
• Review the suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Ensure the PC is proactive in holding Site Progress Meetings and issues minutes of these
• meetings.
• Support Quality Assurance monitoring across the Project
• Support Environmental & Sustainability monitoring and compliance across the project
• Undertake the role of clients representative for sensible monitoring of site construction activities and
• be familiar with all aspects of the contract documentation.
• Enacting the role of Employers ‘Supervisor’ under NEC contracts. · Issue site instructions following agreement from the EPC Project Manager and authenticate any record sheets issued by the Principal Contractor. ·
• Ensure that a drawing documentation system is established on site, which clearly indexes drawings logged and filed in specific sections. ·
• Maintain the system throughout with the latest working drawings/revisions clearly noted and drawings filed to ensure they are readily available. ·
• Maintain BP142 competence & coordinate any required PS training or competence requirement
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £47,000 - £57,000 – dependent on capability.
