We are currently recruiting for Project supervisor's and Senior Project Supervisor to join our team on the Yorkshire Green project, with the need to be onsite full time in and across Yorkshire.
As a key member of our site delivery team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that construction activities across our National Grid sites are managed safely, efficiently and in full compliance with UK legal requirements and National Grid policies. You’ll oversee the quality, safety and technical standards of works on site, maintain strong and collaborative relationships with our contractors, and uphold our ‘clear bright line’ policy to ensure clarity and accountability at all times.
You will act as the Client’s representative on site—ensuring that construction activities are delivered to the highest standards, supporting a well‑run and disciplined site environment, and working alongside the Construction Manager to enforce all Safety, Quality, Sustainability, Environmental and Planning requirements. For senior positions, you’ll also bring subject‑matter expertise across substation disciplines, particularly civil engineering, providing guidance, oversight and leadership to help shape consistently excellent project outcomes.
About you
Within this role as a Project Supervisor / Senior project supervisor, you will have;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply.
- Awareness of NEC Contracts
- Good understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices and policies.
- Good knowledge of quality management processes in construction.
- Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Previous experience of project site management capability of working to deadlines and in a contracting environment.
- You'll be able to show a passion for the world National Grid are building and the UK road to Net Zero.
- Ability to mentor
- Full UK Driving license.
What you'll do
- Support Project Manager, SHES Advisors, and Quality Advisors to ensure project readiness (Completing BP163.25 Project Readiness SMS)
- Attend inaugural and pre-start meetings.
- Support enabling activities such as site visits and surveys.
- Conduct site safety walks and confirm RAMS compliance. Carry out sensible monitoring using a risk-based approach.
- Attend weekly SHES & Quality meetings. Ensure minutes are accurate and distributed in accordance with the contract.
- Maintain electronic site diary for contractual support.
- Perform quality checks and progressive quality assurance. Ensure Inspection & Test Plans / check sheets are completed as works progress.
- Ensure construction matches scope and accepted drawings.
- Raise and monitor defects in accordance with the contract. Ensuring defects are completed in agreed timescales.
- Support stakeholder communication.
- Ensure the facilitation of regular site safety walks, holding coordination meetings with all
contractors on site, ensuring that access/egress to the site is controlled and maintaining a site log/diary. - Review the suitability of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Be project point of contact for any investigations and support the PS team to ensure the contractor closes actions out in a timely manner.
- Ensure the PC is proactive in holding Site Progress Meetings and issues minutes of these meetings.
- Support Quality Assurance monitoring across the Project and review any project quality plans for suitability along side the team.
- As a Senior Supervisor, You will play a part in mentoring Supervisors.
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £48,000 - £63,000 dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
