This is your chance to help make Net Zero happen by project managing the design and construction of new infrastructure that connects low-carbon energy to the existing electricity transmission system, from initial design through to commissioning.

As part of our team, you will:

  • Manage allocated EPC projects to time, budget, and quality, hitting key milestones along the way.
  • Use your project management expertise to deliver and oversee projects in line with established processes.

  • You will have strong team work ethic and skills – The strength of a project depends on excellent teamwork!

  • You make decisions based on the greater good and carefully consider the communities you are working in.

  • You will manage other contractual matters, such as reviewing compensation events, issuing instructions, programme acceptance, and payment application reviews.

  • Supporting and maintaining the projects momentum, quickly working as part of an integrated project team to get the project back on track from any delay, mindful that any slippages will adversely affect the Strategic Infrastructure portfolio.

  • Employing and continuously reviewing a robust risk management process alongside the projects risk management team

  • Following internal governance processes as required for any key baseline changes and sanction requirements.

  • Working with the supply chain to ensure and maintain accurate forecasting within portfolio variance limits, working to achieve monthly and yearly forecasts and delivering the projects Capex spend.

  • Working the project team and suppliers to review and maintain accurate programmes and milestone dates, reviewing and challenging supplier CL32 programme submissions that feed into the integrated programme.

  • Work with the integrated project team to support value engineering with a view to reducing costs whilst remaining within scope.

  • Fostering an environment where everyone, regardless of seniority, feels able to share their concerns. As an organisation we are driven by safety and wellbeing. We have an industry leading ‘Safe to Say’ policy which encourages colleagues to speak up and take ownership of safety issues.

  • Displaying a visible commitment to safety and setting the tone of project safety. For example, by conducting site visits and providing timely feedback on improvements.

  • Ensuring visible and accessible communications are in place throughout the life of a project, such as safety charters and notifications of incidents and lessons learnt. You will also share good practices and reinforce positive behaviours.

  • Looking after your projects’ safety, health, environment, security and quality obligations, adhering to all relevant internal and external policies and regulations.

  • Leading in a way that ensures we deliver what we promised, and that everyone in your team is motivated to deliver results in the right way.

  • Fostering a collaborative environment with the supply chain, including principal contractors; suppliers of services and plant; customers; landowners; and local authorities, residents and businesses. You will also support your team in working with Ofgem and MPs.

  • Creating an atmosphere of trust where no one is isolated and everyone’s opinions are welcomed, learned from, and used to improve things.

  • Acting with fairness and honesty in your communications. When things aren’t going to plan you will share your learnings, and when they are you will celebrate your team’s successes.

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £55,000 - £62,000 – dependent on capability.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
