You’ll interact with every engineering department and support function in the company which is great for your development and raising your own profile. You’ll be involved in a lot of collaboration and decision making. You’ll also have the satisfaction of project ownership, as you see them through from concept and handover to delivery teams. This role is flexible on location with hybrid working, a mix of office, home and site and comes with a company car.

 

Working at the heart of Electricity Transmission network the Protection & Controls team are engaged on projects with values up to £400m. The solutions we develop will meet both the technical needs of the electricity transmission network today but also ensure that our system is fit for purpose in a net zero world.

 

You will lead a multi-disciplined investment team in the project setup, option selection, development, sanction, tender and contract award of Protection & Control investments. Lead scheme teams during project development, actively managing key stakeholders to ensure their timely input and agreement to the selection and development of investments.

Must haves:

  • Minimum HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Project or scheme development – preferably in an engineering environment.
  • Experience in developing multiple projects from concept to delivery focussing on regulatory output, optioneering, detail development and financial management.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills - internal and external.
  • A driving licence that permits you to drive in the UK.

Desirable

  • Experience with electricity transmission assets protection and control systems.

Pay and Benefits

  • A Salary of £54,090 to £60,000 pa + £4,500 pa Market Supplement + Bonus + Company car.
  • 26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days.
  • The option to buy additional or sell holiday days.
  • Generous contributory pension scheme - we will double-match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. Overall 18%.
