National Grid is hiring a Planning, Risk and Commercial Manager- This position is based from our Warwick, Bristol or Warrington office however we offer flexible hybrid working options.

Job Purpose

  • Establish the Planning, Risk and Commercial capability within CND through the formation of a new team
  • Lead commercial analysis and cost management to support FEED contract allocation and performance.
  • Manage and coordinate risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Procurement to ensure commercial viability and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate reporting on schedule, cost, and risk metrics to the PMO Director and project teams. 
  • Interface with regional development teams and external contractors to ensure planning and risk data is robust and integrated.
  • Provide assurance on risk registers and ensure risks are actively managed through the Optioneering and Development phases.
  • Integrate outputs with the ID PMO functions to ensure smooth transition from Development to Delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for the strategic planning of facilities management for designated site and region, ensuring that a long-term view is taken for the planning of services and processes that is in-line with customer needs and expectations and discharged in a way that drives value across the regional estate.
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of site(s), particularly in relation to buildings and premises.
  • Responsible for ensuring all buildings within site and region are fully compliant with the National Grid's Property Governance Framework and relevant site strategies and standards; ensure that the application of compliance and governance frameworks is consistent across those sites that are indirectly managed.
  • Act as the escalation point for relevant facilities management queries from customers across National Grid and work with the Customer Relations Manager to ensure a positive and best-case outcome for all parties.
  • Working across the designated site and region to identify and manage patterns of customer feedback and queries, feeding this into the strategic planning of service provision.
  • Effectively and proactively manage the external supply chain in compliance with contract conditions and standards of service ensuring contractual obligations are delivered.
  • Undertake the identification and reporting of environmental incidents and defects, managing issues through to successful resolution and undertake regular reviews of space utilization, management and reporting.

About You

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex commercial and planning data.
  • Proven experience in project and programme management, ideally within infrastructure or energy sectors.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing planning, commercial or risk functions across multiple projects.
  • Understanding of risk workshops and conducting quantitative risk analysis.
  • Familiarity with relevant investment processes and regulatory frameworks.
  • Project management experience is desirable.

 

What You'll Get

A competitive salary between £59,000 – £80,000 dependent on capability

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus of up to 30% of your salary for stretch performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
