Learning Experience Specialist
About the role
At National Grid, we’re powering the moments that matter and driving the energy transition forward. It’s about more than keeping the lights on – it’s about building a sustainable future for all.
As a Learning Experience Specialist, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we build critical technical capability across our Strategic Infrastructure (SI) business. From immersive learning environments to future-focused digital solutions, you’ll rethink how learning is designed, delivered and experienced.
You’ll lead the governance, design and continuous evolution of our technical learning offer – balancing high-quality compliance training with innovative programmes that drive real business impact. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you’ll align learning to strategic priorities and embed a KPI-led approach to measure success.
This is a fantastic opportunity to influence the future of technical training at scale – helping our people develop the skills they need to deliver some of the UK’s most critical infrastructure projects.
The role is hybrid with our base office located in Warwick, you can enjoy working from the office and from home.
What you'll do
- Drive engagement and adoption of technical training through targeted campaigns and continuous optimisation of the learner experience
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of learning programmes, from design and deployment through to evaluation and improvement
- Ensure robust compliance training governance, reporting and accurate tracking of learning activity
- Align learning solutions to business strategy, partnering with stakeholders to identify skills gaps and future capability needs
- Design and deliver programmes across a diverse portfolio, including project management, commercial capability and specialist technical areas
- Champion modern learning approaches, embedding self-directed and on-demand learning into the flow of work
- Explore emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance and future-proof the learning offer
- Evaluate learning effectiveness and use data and insights to drive continuous improvement
- Build strong internal and external relationships to ensure effective collaboration and delivery
What you'll need
- Proven experience managing complex stakeholder relationships across multiple business areas
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage senior leaders
- Experience designing and delivering end-to-end training programmes (not just facilitating pre-built content)
- Strong understanding of compliance-led training within a regulated environment
- Experience in learning, product development, or programme delivery, with excellent organisational skills
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset with the ability to work independently and own outcomes
- Passion for modern learning methods, including digital and AI-enabled solutions
- Ability to use data and insights to measure impact and inform decision-making
- Knowledge of instructional design principles and effective learning methodologies
- A relevant degree or equivalent experience in learning or a related field
- Full UK driving licence
What you'll get
A competitive salary between £48,374 - £52,465 – dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
