Sea Link is a major reinforcement between Kent and Suffolk – a primarily offshore 2GW HVDC connection that will help power up to two million homes and businesses.

 

As a Lead Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of a major 400kV GIS Substation project, leading it from development through to delivery and close‑out. You’ll be accountable for time, cost and quality, while embedding safety, sustainability and stakeholder excellence at every stage.

 

Location: Hybrid working with travel to site in Kent minimum 3 days per week.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead projects end-to-end, from development and consenting through to commissioning and handover
  • Deliver safe, compliant and cost-efficient solutions aligned to CDM, SHESQ and governance
  • Manage contractors and multi-disciplinary teams across ECI, FEED and delivery
  • Own programme, cost, risk and financial forecasting
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, landowners and communities
  • Act as Client’s Representative / NEC or FIDIC Project Manager
  • Drive commissioning, handover and project close-out
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers and Assistant PMs

About you

  • Proven experience delivering major infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of electricity transmission or similar complex environments
  • Expertise in safety, programme, cost, risk and governance management
  • Experience operating within regulated frameworks
  • Strong contract management capability (NEC/FIDIC)
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and complex stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, influencing and problem-solving skills
  • Professional membership (APM, RICS, CIOB or equivalent) – desirable
