About The Role

 

 

Permanent Roles x 2 – Brand New – UK Wide

 

The UK has set out its ambition to be net zero by 2050 and the energy industry is responding – together we are building a cleaner, greener Britain.

 

As lead Project Manager you’ll be working on one of the biggest, most exciting projects in green energy, supporting the Senior Project Manager in overseeing and managing the Sea Link Project.

 

As we make the move to Net Zero, we’re looking for a Lead Project Manager to help deliver the Sea Link Project. Sea Link is a HVDC link to reinforce the transmission network between Suffolk and Kent with 2GW of transfer capacity.

This is a major project split into 3 sections, including Suffolk Onshore, Kent Onshore and Offshore.

 

The purpose of this role is to develop, sanction, deliver and close a major project to time, cost and specification in accordance with the National Grids network development process. Ensuring health, safety and environmental issues are managed throughout the process and projects deliver the business’ regulatory, stakeholder and customer commitments.

 

This role is UK Hybrid and we continue to offer hybrid working from offices and home.

  • Cable System Engineering
  • Engineering and Installation of Cables

  • Offshore Cable Installation
  • Major Projects – Civils

 

You’ll be proficient Project Management skills including management of risk for delivery of projects to scope, time, cost, quality, safety and security of supply.

What You'll Do

 

 

You’ll lead the National Grid investment process during pre-construction (including development and consenting processes), delivery and closure of projects of varying complexity.

Managing and co-ordinating contractors and project teams your skills will help successfully deliver projects to time, cost and specification and with minimal disruption.

You’ll develop, sanction and deliver the least cost, optimal, efficient and safe solution in line with CDM Regulations and SHESQ considerations.

Monitoring contractor site activities, you’ll ensure compliance with National Grid SHES standards, health & safety, environmental legislation, and CDM regulations.

You’ll manage standard and routine third-party issues, land, consents, grantors, public relations and Community stakeholder relationships to preserve National Grid reputation.

A competitive starting salary between £65,000 - £73,000 dependent on capability. Progression is available in post.

 

Additionally you’ll receive £4,500 as a market supplement broken down and paid monthly.
