Land Reporting Analyst

Business Unit:  Strategic Infrastructure
Requisition Number:  6560

About the role

Be part of the energy future.

Join us at a pivotal moment in the UK’s energy transformation. Working at the forefront of major change across the electricity network, you’ll help support National Grid’s vision to be at the heart of a clean, fair and affordable energy future through optimising our land estate.

As part of the Land Data & Digital team, you’ll empower surveyors and property specialists to work smarter by managing and improving key datasets covering hundreds of sites and tens of thousands of assets. You’ll play a central role in delivering high‑quality reporting for the Strategic Infrastructure (SI) Land teams, primarily through Power BI and Excel, while also developing your wider skills across Microsoft’s digital tools, including Power Automate and Power Apps.

You’ll analyse how data is created and used, identify opportunities to enhance processes, and develop intelligent, automated reporting solutions. Strong communication skills are essential, as you’ll work closely with teams across the Land function to translate complex information into clear insights. Curiosity, problem‑solving ability and a passion for improving how things work will help you thrive in this role.

The location of this role is Nationwide, with hybrid working and access to multiple office hubs including Warwick, Birmingham, London and Leeds.

Key accountabilities

  • Act as a data steward, ensuring high‑quality, well‑governed data across Land teams.
  • Support and manage Land SharePoint site collections to keep information organised and accessible.
  • Work with wider National Grid systems (such as EAM, CRM and GIS) to improve data integration and automation.
  • Identify and deliver improvements to data, processes and systems.
  • Develop and maintain business‑critical reporting in partnership with the Data & Digital team.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers to ensure reporting and data needs are met.

About you

  • Strong knowledge of Power BI, SharePoint, Excel and the rest of the core Microsoft Office software.
  • You understand the basic concepts of how data (including geographical data) is modelled.
  • You can demonstrate the ability to think strategically, commercially and can communicate the broader picture to stakeholders using language they will understand.
  • You have excellent skills in writing, presenting and facilitating discussion.
  • You are customer-oriented, always seeing things from the perspective of the user of a system/process.
  • You think logically and are an enthusiastic problem-solver.
  • You are organised, with experience in planning and managing projects of different scales under time and cost constraints.
  • Experience in property, land rights and/or the electricity industry is desirable.
  • Experience with GIS software and data, Excel’s Power Query, Power Automate, Power Pages, Power Apps and programming languages are advantageous but an aptitude for teaching yourself technical skills as you go is more important.

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £42,000 - £48,000 – dependent on capability.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
