Would you like to play a significant part in the energy transition?
As EPC Project Manager, you’ll have the chance to help make Net Zero happen by project managing the infrastructure that connects low carbon energy to the existing electricity transmission system. Your role will be to manage projects to time and budget, hitting key milestones along the way.
You’ll be working within our Infrastructure Delivery team focusing on the South-East region. You’ll help to build brand new substations and connect a wide range of customers from Battery Storage to AI Data centres.
It's an enormously varied role where you’ll be given the freedom to use your proficiency to deliver and manage your projects as you see fit. You’ll receive visibility and recognition too as the lessons learnt from your work are shared across the wider business.

Summary of Key accountabilities
- Support the investment process during pre-construction, delivery and closure for
projects of varying complexity ensuring governance is maintained throughout. - Ensure internal and contractor compliance with Health & Safety, CDM & Environmental legislation as well as adherence to National Grid standards.
- Enact the role of Client's Delegated Representative and where appropriate, Principal Designer or arrange for the provision of Principal Designer for each project as required under CDM Regulations.
- Provide regular project status reports giving accurate financial forecasting, SHESQ performance, milestone progress & risk management data.
- Support the NEC Project Manager (or equivalent for other contract types).

You will be working in a busy, buoyant environment with lots of variety and change. You’ll need to be resilient, driven, and good at prioritising and managing your own time, particularly when the unexpected crops up.
The strength of a project depends on excellent teamwork, so you’ll have to be good with people too. You make decisions based on the greater good and carefully consider the communities you are working in.
You’ll need a driving licence that allows you to drive in the UK, and there may be some overnight travel too.
Project Management, Influencing and Negotiating Skills are all essential, as is a good understanding of construction Health and Safety standards and regulations.

- Salary of £54,000 - £65,000 dependant on experience and capability, plus Market supplement of £4.5k per annum
