Document Controller - Southwest

We’re looking for a Document Controller to support our projects across the Southwest region, from Melksham, down to Cornwall. You’ll provide document control for complex, multi-site projects to ensure the delivery of compliant and traceable project documentation.
What you’ll do
- Support the Project Team with obtaining required documents from Contractors and Suppliers to pass project phase gates or required for commissioning and gate closures.
- Act as the interface with the FEED Designer/Main Works Contractor’s document controller and systems to ensure that all contractual documents are correctly administered in compliance with National Grid’s policies and procedures.
- Administer the SharePoint site; owning, maintaining and updating SharePoint with all relevant documentation.
- Produce and maintain Document Control Matrix for outstanding documents/drawings monthly, as part of management packs.
- Ensure that all documents are logged, reviewed, comments collated, and that changes are identified and updated, distributing documents to relevant parties, making sure that documentation is controlled and traceable to form part of an audit trail.
You will be based in our Portishead office for 2 days per week and you will also be required to travel to sites within the Southwest region to conduct audits.
What you'll need
- Advanced knowledge of SharePoint – working experience of owning, maintaining and updating SharePoint and being the point of contact for any questions regarding SharePoint.
- High computer literacy, with experience in the use and application of standard MS applications; Excel, Word and PowerPoint. A keen eye for detail is essential, as the custodian of our documentation we need it to be accurately numbered, formatted and filed.
- Extensive experience in the use of Common Data Environments (CDE) and/or collaboration software is key as is experience of project delivery and using naming conventions and metadata in document control.
- Experience and Knowledge of project handover records and CDM Health & Safety file requirements would be an advantage as well as an awareness of the Construction contract environment, including contractual terms of conditions and processes.
- Proven planning and processing management skills and organisational skills.
- A full UK driving licence to travel to National Grid sites.
