As a Construction Environment & Sustainability Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our projects deliver lasting positive impact for both the environment and the communities we serve.

 

Working on Eastern Green Link 4 (EGL4), you’ll help embed environmental excellence across a high-profile, complex project spanning Scotland, the North of England and the Midlands. This hybrid role offers real visibility across delivery, with travel to Fife, Edinburgh, Lincolnshire and Norfolk.

About EGL4

Eastern Green Link 4 is a major High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) project connecting Fife in Scotland to Norfolk in England, enabling the transmission of up to 2GW of renewable energy – enough to power around 1.5 million homes.

 

The project includes:

  • A 530km subsea HVDC cable between Fife and Lincolnshire
  • A 14km underground cable to a new converter station at Westfield (Fife)
  • A 100km underground cable to a new converter station near Walpole (Norfolk)

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the development and delivery of environmental & sustainability strategies across major projects
  • Champion key priorities including carbon reduction, biodiversity and legacy outcomes
  • Act as a trusted advisor to project teams and contractors
  • Embed a strong environmental culture across project teams and the supply chain
  • Develop tools, guidance and training to build capability and awareness
  • Monitor, report and drive improvements in environmental performance and compliance
  • Support environmental incident investigations and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities to innovate and exceed expectations

What we're looking for

  • Experience in Environmental Management on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects (client-side desirable)
  • Proven background in Sustainability Management, including carbon and resource efficiency
  • Strong knowledge of environmental best practice in major project delivery
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive behavioural change
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A genuine passion for delivering sustainable infrastructure
  • Degree (or equivalent) in environmental, sustainability or related field
  • ISEP (or similar) membership desirable
  • Full UK driving licence

What you'll get

A competitive salary between £54,000 - £65,000 – dependent on capability.

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a job requirement company car, a bonus based on personal performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
